Ouwe Mannen DVD is a skateflick filmed, screwed and chopped by Remy Cadier. Skating took place between 2009/2010. Featuring only skaters over 30 and older.
And 2 young whippersnappers.

Powerslide is working on something big. Last winter they released an edit of the USD pro skaters riding down hill in Barcelona from the tip of the mounain to the see. They did this on the powerslide freeskate frames. The pro skaters loved this so much that Kizer begon to develop a new kind of freeskate frame made out of fluid material.

Imagine when the worlds best and most exciting rollerbladers found a way of triplicating the speed they were used to. Imagine finding a way to fly through the city without having to give up aggressive skating. Imagine Parkour at 10 times the speed, where poor floor was no longer an issue for the small, hard wheels aggressive skaters are used to.

Powerblading is the natural progression of aggressive skating. Aggressive skating has seen thousands and thousands of tricks and combinations invented. It has grown and in many places been outlawed. Fun while skating a single spot, it has become cumbersome and clumsy at times. Cracks in the ground, bad paving, crowds of people, cops and hills are all an aggressive skaters nightmare.

In Barcelona the Powerhouse in collaboration with Kizer and UC has spent a year on the evolution of Powerblading, effectively Aggressive 2.0, and the problem is, once you start its very, very hard to stop. Suddenly a whole new world opens up to you as soon as you strap on a flat setup of 80mm wheels.

Op een zonnige, doch koude zaterdagochtend werd ik wakker. Na een ontbijt te hebben genuttigd, pakte ik de bus naar Amersfoort Centraal, waar de Keistad Connection kornuiten elkaar om half 12 zouden ontmoeten. Zoals vaker kwam Luca Gobbo te laat, wellicht te verklaren door zijn mediterrane achtergrond. Vandaar dat we de volgende trein moesten nemen. Door alle stress die hierdoor ontstaan was, nuttigde ik twee Hertog Jans® (gevolgd door vele Jupilers® tijdens de wedstrijd). Rond kwart over twee kwamen we aan bij skatepark Waalhalla gelegen aan, ja….., de Waal dus.

De wedstrijd begon om drie uur in de middag met een jam op een grindbox die ongeveer 50 cm hoog was. Junioren en senioren skaten gezamenlijk. Ik wil gelijk bij zeggen dat ik hieronder slechts enkele trucen noem, omdat er gewoon teveel mooie stunts werden uitgehaald. Orveo, Pascal en Luca deden mooie switch-ups en technische tricks, onder andere een true-makio to switch alley-oop fishbrain van Pascal. Ook andere skaters haalden mooie kapriolen uit. Zo deed Bob een aantal mooie negative grinds. Tijdens de pauze konden de skaters mooie producten halen bij het Thisissoul skateshop® kraampje tegen voordelige prijzen. Daarbij wil ik graag vermelden dat Thisissoul de enige materiële sponsor was van de derde editie KapotHard.

Na een pauze van een half uur begon de tweede jam op de piramide. Hier werden veel kapotharde disasters gegooid zoals disaster mizous, 720 natural en switch (Erik Droogh), en een bijna gelukte 720 over de hele pyramide door een klein kereltje die David heette. Jammer genoeg viel Pascal op zijn achterhoofd na een mislukte 900. Gelukkig kon hij na paar minuten weer skaten, waarschijnlijk door de verzorging door een donkere godin. Na weer een pauze begon le grand finale op de centerpiece. Hier werd voornamelijk de rail geskate en haalden de jongens allemaal technische kapriolen uit, die soms een salsa dans leken, zo verfijnd. Het waren er gewoon teveel om op te noemen, maar de meest memorabele truuk vond ik persoonlijk de sidewalk-grind van Koen Bleijerveld. Bob nummer twee viel jammer genoeg best hard op zijn kin, maar gelukkig was hechten niet nodig.

Na de finale trok de jury zich terug om te debatteren over de uitslag. In de tussentijd konden mensen buiten barbecueën. Rond half zeven werden de winnaars bekend gemaakt waarvan de meeste een dikke smakkerd van me kregen en natuurlijk mooie prijzen van Thisissoul.
Concluderend wil ik stellen dat ondanks relatief magere opkomst, KapotHard zeer gezellig was, maar wel kapothard!
